Law enforcement has briefed us, uh, that there are no specific credible threats identified at this point. The White House says Americans should have confidence in the nation’s election system. Having the right to vote is the most sacred right, and people should, uh, really, um, exercise that right and they should feel safe in their election process.
Speaking to reporters, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the Biden administration has kept taking actions to counter foreign interference in the U.S election. Now, this comes after a Russian oligarch with ties to Vladimir Putin admitted to interfering in the U.S election and said he would continue to do so in the future.
Jean-Pierre said it’s not surprising Russia would highlight their efforts on the eve of an election, but out of the Biden administration has used sanctions and other measures to prevent interference. Sanctions, travel bans as well, exposure, information sharing, flooring, investment screening, anti-money laundering, and expulsions.
