While speaking from a manufacturing plant in South Carolina, President Biden called out Congressional Republicans who voted against his signature Inflation Reduction Act, a bipartisan infrastructure law.
“All those members of Congress who voted against it suddenly realize how great it is, and they’re bragging about it,” the president said.
He mentioned Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville by name, who last month praised the $1.4 billion in federal funds his state is set to receive for expanded broadband internet. The funding was authorized through the trillion-dollar bipartisan infrastructure law Tuberville voted against.
Biden said he’s fine with that because he’s the president for all Americans.
“Great to see Alabama receive critical funds to boost ongoing broadband efforts. That’s all right, because I’m one of those guys that believe in conversion.”
