Daniel Kaluuya on working with Keke Palmer, their sibling relationship in Nope

Daniel Kaluuya is prominent both on screen and on stage. He’s received so many accolades, including an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Golden Globe, and nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award. And in 2021, he was named among the top 100 influential people in the world by Time Magazine.

But it was his performance in Jordan Peele’s Get Out that cemented his place in cinematic history. He’s back with Jordan again in Nope, playing the brother of Keke Palmer. Here’s Daniel:

“For me, it’s about having a brother and sister narrative, which just makes me — I love sibling… that’s like hell or high water, you know, like it’s about like, I love films that explore siblings. And so to do like a different sex, different gender siblings…you see a platonic love and that they fit with each other. It is like what Keke was saying, like a yin and a yang. So it was amazing to kind of like explore that and find the funny and find the love in it. But with the tint of…you annoy me… She’s annoyed by me as well. So this is like, there’s that push and conflict, but underneath it’s a lot of love and a lot of care.”

Well, don’t look for Daniel to reprise his role of W’Kabi in the Black Panther sequel — Jordan Peele is keeping him quite busy these days.
