Deadly Nashville School Shooting: Ex-Student’s Elaborate Plan Ends in Tragedy

 The devastating attack on Monday at The Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, left three adults and three children dead. The suspect, Audrey Hale, 28, was a former student, and police say the attack was targeted.

Police reported that Hale had drawn a detailed map of the school and conducted surveillance prior to the massacre.

The victims: Evelyn Dieckhaus, 9, Hallie Scruggs, 9, and William Kinney, 9, along with school administrator Katherine Koonce, 60, substitute teacher, Cynthia Peak, 61, and custodian Mike Hill, 61.

Chilling surveillance footage shows the shooter driving up to the school, breaking through the glass doors, and walking through the quarters with a long-barreled gun. Hale was armed with two assault-style weapons and a handgun, and was fatally shot by police 14 minutes after the initial emergency call.

President Biden, in his response to the shooting, called for Congress to pass a ban on certain semi-automatic weapons.

So far this year, the U.S. has experienced 130 mass shootings, resulting in 199 deaths and 493 injuries.
