Mississippi Mass Choir Preps for 11th Live Recording!

The Grammy Award-winning Mississippi Mass Choir is getting ready for “Live Recording XI” that will take place on Oct. 28th at the Word of Life Church in Flowood, Miss. The live recording and videotaping are scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Rev. Milton Biggham, the Founder and Director of The Georgia Mass Choir, was the first special guest announced. Biggham has had a longstanding history with the Choir and has participated in several of their recordings in the past. The Mississippi Mass Choir now celebrating 34 years of ministry will be releasing the names of additional guests leading up to the recording.

Jerry Mannery, Executive Director of the Choir, had this to say, “Like a deeply rooted tree, that branches out to produce fruit, attendees can expect to hear the Sunday morning church sound that has made the choir an institution in the industry, as well as a freshness that will make them current.”

The Choir also recently announced the launch of a new website www.mississippimasschoir.org, where tickets may be purchased for the live event.

Gospel Jazz Musician Ben Tankard Is Launching “Smooth Life TV Network”

Gospel/Smooth Jazz musician and producer, Ben Tankard has his sights set on bringing new content centering around relaxing music, movies, money matters, motivation, mindset, and of course magnificent mansions to a brand-new television network he’s launching with his wife, Jewel.

The SMOOTH LIFE Network slated to begin airing around Oct. 1, is set to be a backdrop for a peaceful and fulfilling lifestyle, offering a combination of audible and visual programming. Tankard, who already has had a successful run in reality TV with “Thicker Than Water: The Tankards,” is now seeking to open the door to other creatives and is casting the net out for new content creators. The 24-hour Smooth Life Channel will be available 24 hours with both live and on-demand content via Apple/ROKU/Amazon Firestick and on iPhone and Android apps and more.

Tasha Cobbs Leonard Releasing “Hymns”

Tasha has already kicked off a mini tour to promote “Hymns,” which began in Nashville on Sept. 26th and will conclude in Atlanta, GA with the Hymns Tour Album Release Party which will be held at The Tabernacle on Oct. 6th at 9:30 p.m. with special guests Anna Golden and Natalie Grant. “Hymns” will be available on all digital platforms on Friday, Oct. 7th.

Praise and worship powerhouse Tasha Cobbs Leonard is taking her fans a step back in time when hymns were the standard for the unified church experience. Her latest album “Hymns,” was recorded live in Chicago, the birthplace of gospel music where Tasha revisits beloved traditional Sunday morning church classics redefined in a refreshing and accessible way. Since the start of her career in 2010, the “Break Every Chain” singer has won a multitude of awards including a Grammy in 2014 for the Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance, 15 Stellar Awards, 9 Dove Awards, and 3 Billboard Music Awards.

14th Annual Shoutfest Lineup Is Announced

Aiken, S.C. is gearing up for Shoutfest, billed as the largest free outdoor Gospel festival in the Central Savannah River Area. The event will be taking place at the Beverly D. Clyburn Generations Park from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Oct. 15, 2022, and will feature live performances from both mainstream and regional gospel artists. The event, now in its 14th year, will be headlined by Deitrick Haddon.

The jammed-pack roster will also feature performances by Rudy CurrenceJermaine DollyJokia, Judah BandWess MorganLucinda Moore, and many others including local favorites Claude Deuce and Shawna Dominique. Vendors will be on-site to provide food, merchandise, and other services. Families with children can also look forward to a tremendous Kidszone.

21st Annual “I Hear Music Conference” Returns to Cincinnati

The annual I Hear Music in the Air Conference, now in its 21st year, will be bringing a “A Night of Healing” for the folks in Cincinnati, Ohio. The evening and this year’s concert theme aim to connect and bring healing through music and address issues that directly impact the local city community including homelessness, poverty, and food insecurity.
