High Gas Prices Are a Major Issue Heading Into the Midterms

High gas prices are a major issue heading into the midterm elections, and the White House was recently embroiled in a tense situation with the Saudis. The Biden administration requested cuts in oil production be delayed until after the midterms, as high gas prices would not bode well for Democrats at the polls.

Now, Bloomberg reports the White House is moving toward releasing at least another 10 to 15 million barrels of oil from the emergency stockpile in a bid to balance markets and keep gas prices from climbing.

But the issue with Saudis is far from over and could become a major problem for President Biden.

In a video posted on Twitter, Saudi prince Saud al-Shaalan said, “Anybody that challenges the existence of this country and this kingdom, all of us, we are projects of jihad and martyrdom.”

“That’s my message to anybody that thinks that it can threaten us,” he added.
