Manhattan DA Fights GOP Chair to Protect Trump Inquiry

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has filed a lawsuit against House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, alleging that he spearheaded a concerted effort to harass and undermine the DA and interfere in the case involving former President Donald Trump.

Bragg aims to prevent a subpoena requiring testimony from ex-senior prosecutor Mark Pomerantz and to halt requests for confidential documents and testimony from current and former staff members. The suit argues that Congress lacks a legitimate legislative reason to target Bragg in response to the investigation into Trump, characterizing the situation as a direct assault on federalism and New York’s sovereign interests.

The suit also alleges a campaign of intimidation, retaliation, and obstruction fueled by Trump, Jordan, and other committee members. Over 1,000 threatening and racially charged calls and emails have been directed at Bragg’s office since Trump falsely predicted his arrest.
