President Biden Is Traveling To Uvalde, Texas On Sunday

President Biden is traveling to Uvalde, Texas on Sunday to meet with relatives of the victims of Tuesday’s horrific mass shooting inside an elementary school that left 19 kids and two teachers dead.

Biden said he hoped to bring the community some form of comfort and, “let them know we have a sense, just a sense of their pain.”

He made the announcement during a ceremony where he signed a new executive order on national police reform.

“Accountability is all too rare. That’s why I promised as president, I would do everything in my power to enact meaningful police reform that is real and lasting.”

The executive order seeks more accountability from police, looks at new practices and procedures, and increases transparency.

Also during the ceremony, Vice President Kamala Harris blasted Republicans for not enacting meaningful change.

“They walked away from their moral obligation to address what caused millions of Americans to march in the streets,” said Harris referring to Senate Republicans’ rejection of the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.
