Trump Wants ‘Immediate Release’ of FBI Search Warrant

Former President Donald Trump has until 3:00 PM Friday to oppose a motion filed by the Department of Justice to unseal the search warrant and property receipt that allowed the FBI to search his Mar-a-Lago home. Late Thursday, the former president posted on his platform, Truth Social, that he will not oppose the release of the documents and said, “I am going a step further by encouraging the immediate release of those documents.”

The search of Mar-a-Lago was performed because authorities believe that Trump has classified documents stored there from his time in the White House. Under the 1978 Presidential Records Act, it says the United States shall reserve and retain complete ownership, possession, and control of presidential records. If the warrant is unsealed, the public will get a chance to see what officials were looking for.
